LEAH’s Pillars

STEM EDUCATION

LEAH provides its high school-aged youth with academic support and inspires interest in STEM & confidence in their ability to pursue STEM studies in college. Our youth get access to:

- STEM internships

- STEM-focused field trips to local companies

- STEM job shadow days

- STEM career nights

- STEM mentorship from professionals in the field

COLLEGE ACCESS

LEAH offers college readiness support including:

- Individualized academic and college application support

- College visits

- Opportunities to practice interviews

- Financial aid workshops

- Preparation for college life (reviewing campus resources, living with roommates, choosing majors, time management)

- Continued support during college from the LEAH team and fellow LEAH alum who act as mentors

CAREER READINESS

The LEAH Project builds job readiness skills and enhances the employability of our youth through training and hands-on experience including:

- On-the-job experience as part of their internship(s) where they assume the roles of teachers, role models, researchers in the lab, data analysts and more

- Weekly trainings & workshops on topics like public speaking & communication, classroom management, debates, etc.

- STEM Events that expose them to STEM professionals and careers
